MM2 trading guide
How to trade in Murder Mystery 2, what Godly, Ancient, Chroma and Vintage mean, and how to read MM2 values.
Updated October 13, 2026
Murder Mystery 2, made by Nikilis, is one of the biggest trading games on Roblox. Knives, guns and pets are traded every day, and values change with events and updates.
How to trade in MM2
- Open the player list in the top right and click the player you want to trade with.
- Choose Trade. The other player gets a request they can accept or decline.
- When the trade window opens, your inventory is on the left. Add your items and check theirs.
- Both players accept to finish the trade.
A few things to know:
- A trade can hold up to 4 different items per side, but you can add several copies of each.
- Every time an item is added, there's a 6-second wait before you can accept. Use that time to check what changed.
- You can turn off trade requests with a button under the player list.
- Guns, knives, pets and some misc items like keys and gifts can be traded.

MM2 item tiers
- Godly: the tier above Legendary. Godlies come from boxes at very low odds, from crafting, events, codes, game passes and trading.
- Ancient: one tier above Godly, mostly from Halloween and Christmas events.
- Chroma: color-changing versions of some Godlies. Some can't be obtained anymore.
- Vintage: items from the original Murder Mystery. You can only get them by trading.
- Unique: the MM2 Wiki lists three Unique knives (Corrupt, Blue Candy Cane and Red Hallow) as the rarest weapons. Value lists also file award items like Gold weapons under Unique.

How MM2 values work
MM2 values are made by the community, not by Nikilis. Value lists use a plain number scale, and the MM2 Wiki itself points to community lists. Our MM2 value list compares several of them and shows a range when they disagree.
Some items on our list are special award items that are almost never traded, so we show them as Award item instead of a value.
Why values move
Supply matters. The MM2 Wiki notes that some Chromas lost value after duping glitches added extra copies to the game, and that in 2022 Nikilis removed most of the large duplicated stacks. Big events and new items also shift demand.
Before you trade
- Check both sides in the MM2 trade calculator.
- Look at demand, not just value. See how to judge a trade.
- Never trust trade. Read our trading safety guide.
