Creatures of Sonaria trading guide

How to trade in Creatures of Sonaria, what Mush (Shooms) means, the 500K Shooms cap and the scams the official wiki warns about.

Updated October 13, 2026

Creatures of Sonaria, made by Sonar Studios, lets players trade creatures, plushies, palettes and more. Here's how it works and how to read values.

How to trade in CoS

  1. Open the Trade Realm with the "Trade World" button in the bottom left of the main menu.
  2. New players need to own at least 10 species before they can enter the Trade Realm.
  3. Walk up to a player and press E (or click them), or find them through the trading window.
  4. Each side has 9 slots plus a field for Shooms.
  5. When both players accept, the trade finishes after 5 seconds. Changing anything cancels the accept.

Trade Realm servers are split by region, so you can only trade across regions with friends.

What you can trade

Species, stored creatures, Shooms, tokens, color palettes and most plushies can be traded. Tikits can't. Some creatures are role-exclusive and can only be traded by players with that role.

Mush, Shooms and the "m" trap

Mush is the name players use for Shooms, the game's tradeable currency. Values on our CoS value list are in Mush.

Watch the letter case. In CoS chat a lowercase m often means Shooms ("450m" = 450 Shooms), while a capital M means million. Mixing them up is an easy way to lose a lot.

The 500K Shooms cap

A single trade can hold at most 500,000 Shooms. Getting around the cap means a trust trade, and the official wiki warns that trust trades are extremely risky because the other player can leave with your side.

Scams the official wiki warns about

  • Trust trades. Never accept one.
  • A stored creature delivered instead of the species you agreed on. Inspect items with the magnifying glass before accepting.
  • Swapping items after you've agreed.
  • Spin-the-wheel "giveaways."
  • Players pretending to be someone else. Check the username and user ID.
